Spencer Savings Bank’s annual toy drive this December brought joy to hundreds of local children and families. Bank employees, including our very own Spencer Santa, personally delivered the toys collected from the financial centers and corporate headquarters to local nonprofit groups.

“We’re grateful for the overwhelming generosity of our employees and customers”, José Guerrero, chairman and CEO of Spencer, said. “This generosity will allow many local families to have a happy holiday, despite the adversity they are currently facing.”

Toy drive donations were distributed to Josephine’s Place, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women in and around Elizabeth, where Spencer hosted a holiday party that included a crafting activity and pizza party. Children enjoyed meeting Santa and getting their gifts. Additional toys were distributed to the Garfield VFW and Elmwood Park Residents Assistance Program.

Spencer employees also participated in Bergen Volunteers “Adopt-An-Individual” program, shopping for families in need across Bergen County. Employees shopped for individuals from their wish lists, making the holidays a little brighter for those of all ages facing difficult circumstances this holiday season.

Remember to save any new, unopened and unwanted toys your family may receive throughout the year for future donations during the holidays. Spencer hosts its annual toy drive starting in mid-November and can facilitate the donation of toys to children in need on your behalf.
