Free McDonald’s fries with every Detroit Lions interception

After every Lions game which the Lions made an interception, fans can get a free order of the fast-food giant’s famous French fries.
On Tuesday, McDonald’s announced a new “McValue platform” menu that will offer customers new savings options to choose from at its U.S. restaurants, including those in Michigan.
McDonald’s new McValue menu will offer all day savings and more “variety, choice and flexibility,” according to a news release.
“When it comes to value, we know there’s no one-size-fits-all. We’ve worked closely with our franchisees to create a new platform that will let our customers define value on their own terms,” said Joe Erlinger, President of McDonald’s USA in a news release. “From deals on their personal go-to order to universal favorites like the $5 Meal Deal, we’re excited to give fans more ways to save every time they visit one of our restaurants.”
New to its McValue platform is a “Buy One, Add One for $1,” offer.
Customers can mix and match, buying a full-priced menu item on its McValue meal and pairing it with another item for $1 of equal or lesser value according to the restrictions.
McDonald’s Breakfast Buy One, Add One for $1 menu items include:
- Sausage McMuffin
- Sausage Biscuit
- Sausage Burrito
- Hash Browns
McDonald’s McValue Lunch/Dinner Buy One, Add One for $1 menu items include:
- 6-pc. Chicken McNuggets
- Double Cheeseburger
- McChicken
- Small fries
As part of the new menu roll out, there will be additional savings via its App and local franchisees will offers special in their communities.

According to a new release, in Michigan, McDonald’s customers can enjoy 20% off their purchase of $7 or more, $1.49 any-size fries, or a $6 Big Mac, Filet-O-Fish, or 10 piece Chicken McNuggets combo meal. All McDonald’s locations in metro Detroit are expected to have this offer, McDonald’s says.
Plus, because of the Detroit Lions being in the playoffs, when the Lions make an interception in any of their playoff games, fans can get a free order of any-size fries via the McDonald’s App.
Continuing on the menu is McDonald’s $5 value meal, which was announced in June 2024. The offer, which includes choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, 4-piece Chicken McNuggets and a small soft drink, was intended to last for a limited time but was continued on. One
According to a news release, McDonald’s other offers as part of the new McValue roll out include several offers in its App such as a free medium fries with a $1 purchase every Friday in 2025 and a free McCrispy chicken sandwich for new App users.
Keep in mind with all the offers prices may vary by locations and there are restrictions.
