Walmart Canada’s Store Elves Bring Joy & Savings This Xmas

Walmart Canada just launched its “Holiday Helpers” campaign, inspired by the “Elf on the Shelf” figurines, to make shopping easier, more affordable, and more fun for families.

The initiative, developed in partnership with Canadian advertising and PR agency Cossette, highlights Walmart associates as spirited elves, transforming everyday shopping moments into magical, larger-than-life adventures through unexpected and fun interactions.

Melissa Pereira, director of content and creative at Walmart Canada, shared how the retailer brought the magic of the season through its Walmart World associates:

“With the holiday hustle in full swing, we’re here to help customers find amazing gifts without breaking the bank, offering a helping hand when it’s needed most.”

This campaign taps into the growing trend of making holiday shopping more enjoyable through engaging marketing.

As families face the usual holiday hustle, Walmart’s tie-up with creative agencies provides both entertainment and practical value while offering a refreshing alternative to the typical stress associated with holiday shopping.

Holiday Helpers Are Here

The 15-second spot begins with a Walmart associate approaching a “holiday helper” perched on a stack of display boxes.

The helper cheerfully declares he is “observing, helping” and encourages the associate to take notes.

The scene transitions to a shopper picking up a box of chocolates, where the helper suddenly appears. “Need a nutcracker?” he quips, pointing to the associate beside a display of nutcrackers.

In another moment, the helper pops out from behind a clothes rack, surprising a shopper as she picks up an outfit.

“That really makes your eyes pop,” he comments with a playful smile.

The shopper walks away grinning, and the ad concludes on a lighthearted note.

The campaign rolls out on TV, digital, and social media channels, with in-store activations.

Recently, Walmart tapped into holiday nostalgia by reuniting stars Scott Patterson and Lauren Graham as Luke and Lorelai from the iconic TV series “Gilmore Girls.”
